How we produce and review content

Our standard

ProfitGuruOnline publishes information on Indian mutual funds, equities, investing concepts, and personal finance. Every article and data page is held to one rule: if a number, name, date, or attribution cannot be traced to a primary authoritative source, it is not published. We do not invent statistics, testimonials, or "trusted by N investors" claims.

How a story or page gets published

1. Sourcing — Every fact cites a primary authority: SEBI, RBI, IRDAI, AMFI, NSE/BSE, exam boards, AMC factsheets, or the relevant company's own filings.
2. Drafting — Written by an editor with finance-domain familiarity. Numerical data (NAVs, returns, ratios) is pulled from the live database, not transcribed by hand.
3. Review — Articles touching tax, regulation, or specific schemes are cross-checked against the latest SEBI/RBI/CBDT notification before publishing.
4. Updates — Data pages refresh daily (NAVs at ~22:30 IST after AMFI publication). Long-form articles are reviewed at least annually and on every relevant regulatory change.

Data sources we use

• Mutual fund NAVs and ISINs — AMFI NAVAll.txt (daily) and the AMFI Scheme Master.
• Historical mutual fund NAVs — mfapi.in, which mirrors AMFI's per-scheme history.
• SEBI scheme sub-categorisation — AMFI NAVAll.txt section headers, which carry the authoritative 36-category SEBI taxonomy.
• News headlines — Times of India business RSS feed, cached for 30 minutes, displayed as headlines only.
• Equity prices (when launched) — NSE and BSE end-of-day bhavcopy.

Where third-party data is displayed, the source is named on the page.

Corrections

If you spot an error, please write to us via the contact form. Corrections to factual content are made within two business days and the page carries a "Last reviewed" date. Material corrections (a wrong number, a misattribution) are noted inline.

Conflicts of interest

ProfitGuruOnline does not sell mutual fund units, brokerage services, or insurance products. The site is not a distributor and earns no commission on any investment made. Display advertising on the site is served by independent ad inventory and is clearly marked. The editorial team has no financial relationship with any AMC, broker, or listed company that is the subject of editorial coverage.
